| 1. Start the engine in an idling mode. |

2. Remove a vacuum hose from the EGR valve and on its place connect the manual vacuum pump. |
| 3. Using the manual vacuum pump, create vacuum in the EGR valve, thus the vacuum should be steady, and operation of the engine should be unstable. If the vacuum decreases, and operation of the engine did not change, replace the EGR valve. |
