2.3. Top dead point of the first cylinder

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

The sequence of operations is presented in the assumption that the distributor of ignition is established correctly. If it is necessary to define the top dead point for distributor installation, establish the piston of the first cylinder in the top dead point in a compression step, then expose ignition labels.


The top dead point of the piston is a point through which passes each piston at a provorachivaniye of a cranked shaft. Each piston reaches situation VMT at the end of a step of compression then again at the end of an exhaust step. For the purpose of installation of the mechanism of a gazoraspredeleniye of the engine the top dead point of the piston of the first cylinder is used.

Arrangement of the piston exactly in the top dead point all-important at carrying out many works, for example, at removal of a camshaft, a gear belt and a pulley of a camshaft and the ignition distributor.

Before the beginning of works on installation of the piston of the first cylinder in the top dead point, be convinced that the lever of gear shifting is in neutral situation, and the hand brake will tighten. Disconnect ignition system, having taken out a main line a ny wire from a cover of the distributor and having earthed it on weight. Unscrew spark plugs.

For installation of any of pistons in the top dead point rotate a cranked shaft one of the methods described below. Thus rotate a cranked shaft of the engine clockwise.

The most preferable method is a provorachivaniye of a cranked shaft of the engine for a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a cranked shaft.

For economy of time it is possible to use a starter for a piston supply to the top dead point. Exact installation of the piston is carried out to the top dead point by turn of a cranked shaft for a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a cranked shaft.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Note position of the plug of the first cylinder on a distributor cover. If the label is absent, determine it by the high-voltage wire going from a candle of the first cylinder.

2. Using chalk or a felt-tip pen, put on the distributor case a label located under contact of the first cylinder.

3. Uncover the distributor and move it aside.
4. Turn a cranked shaft of the engine while the label on a pulley of a cranked shaft will not be combined with figure 0 on a plate of installation of the mechanism of the gazoraspredeleniye, located on the forward party of the engine.
5. Check the provision of a rotor of the distributor which should be directed on a label put on the case of the distributor.
If the rotor of the distributor is sent to the opposite side, the piston of the first cylinder is in the top dead point in an exhaust step.
For installation of the piston of the first cylinder in VMT in a step of compression turn a cranked shaft on 360 ° clockwise. Thus the rotor of the distributor should be combined with a label.
