5.6. Check and replacement of the fan of a radiator and relay

5.6.1. Check

GENERAL INFORMATION

Arrangement of a temperature-sensitive element of turning on of the fan of a radiator in the bottom tank of a radiator on models with four-cylinder engines

Management of the fan is made by a temperature-sensitive element established in a radiator.
On the V6 engine 1MZ-FE temperature-sensitive elements No. 1 (And) and No. 2 (In) are located on a thermostat casing.

Check of resistance of temperature-sensitive elements on the V6 engine 1MZ-FE
On the cold engine resistance of the sensor No. 1 should be equal 0.

Check of serviceability of the engine of the fan of a radiator by tension giving on it additional wires from the accumulator
 

The fan should turn on at excess of working temperature of the engine, that is some minutes prior to an entrance of an arrow of the index of temperature of the engine in red sector. If the fan does not turn on, remove wires from a temperature-sensitive element, connect them among themselves and include ignition. If the fan after that earns, possibly, the temperature-sensitive element which is subject to replacement failed. In case the fan still does not work, check, whether tension to a temperature-sensitive element moves. If tension on a temperature-sensitive element is absent, probably, damage of wires, or the fuse fused. If tension moves, check reliability of connection with mass of the second wire of the sensor. If термодат the chik and electroconducting in a good condition, means, possibly, the fan electric motor is damaged. The electric motor can be checked by tension giving on it a dopolnitel ny wires from the accumulator.
